I have random guilty pleasures...

...and the one on the top of my list, is definetely browsing the online Kitson boutique. I always look forward to summer. After dressing myself in layers, and more layers as the temperature drops throughout the year, I desperately await the coming of May when I can finally brave myself outside in something like a tee. So by the time the middle of the summer comes, I suddenly want the cold and am sick of dressing lightly every day. Now that school is starting in less than 2 days...I want to do nothing else but purchase summery things. Sunglasses in fact. So here are some pics that I found on http://www.shopkitson.com/ For the ones of you who still have a vacation to jet off to, or say live somewhere warm where the sun is always blazing, and jackets are a necessity-here's the yummiest of the yum in the eyewear department.

The ones that topped my list as soon as I saw them were the Balenciaga Green Edition Sunglasses. Made in Italy and priced at $345

My second selection came in the form of Emilio Pucci Black 135 Sunglasses. Made in Italy and priced at $365. I can completely picture myself in the back of a motorcycle, with these, a leather jacket and a bad-boy. Wait...I don't date bad boys.

My third choice brought me back to my days lazily lounging on the beach, checking out the cute, shirtless, preppy boys just mere feet away from me. Ah, bliss. Miu Miu Smu60G Sunglasses are priced at $185

Daddy dearest, please put me on a first-class bound plane and send me back to where I was just a month ago (L)

Place your foot into fall with fashion and grace

After reading a fellow blogger's post on fall trends, I noticed that ankle boots were included. I forgot how much I had lusted for these just a few months ago, but was quickly reminded when I decided to make finding pairs of affordable, but stylish ankle boots my mission. After hours of searching, jotting down and comparing I have come up with the following fashion-forward, wallet-friendly finds!

My very first stop was Nine West. I have often frequented this store and their online-website for my own fix of pump-cravings. It was quite easy and I found these cute (ALL UNDER $150) pairs.

We're not done travelling yet...

Continuing of on my previous post below about last-minute glam vacations, comes this post.

-Stay at the fun and colourful St. Tropez hotel Byblos and feel like a star. Reported vacationers include Kate Moss, Diddy, and the place where Brigitte Bardot used to stay at. It's not exactly known as a place of peace and quiet, but you can get that at home alone.

-You could book yourself a suite at the Hyatt or you could pay $101 a ngiht and stay in a "vision machine". The vision depends on which room you check into at the PROPELLER ISLAND CITY LODGE (www.propeller-island.com) in Berlin. And, no, breakfast is not included. The morbidly inclined would love "Gruft", which features coffin beds-singles of course. Those who have seen The Silence of the Lambs once too often will naturally be attracted to the "Two Lions" suite, furnished with beds in two ornate cages elevated 1.5 meters off the carpeted floor. The borderline psychopath will love the green leather upholstery of "Padded Cell", while the certifiable unstable might be biased toward "Flying Bed", with its sharply slanted floor. Designed and built by artist and musician Lars Stroschen, makes your night stay feel like "living in a work of art".

-What does it feel like to go to sleep with the Eiffel Tower sparkling through your windows? Or wake up in a glowing, all-orange room? Hotels like the Everland (www.everland.ch) -a groovy 60's vibe crash pad currently bolted onto the roof of the Palais de Tokyo contemporary arts center will give you all those thrills!

The Comforts of the South

With less than two weeks, left before school, college, or university, everyone deserves a last-minute, much needed vacation.

The three top hot-spots to visit are: South of France, South of the Border, and South America

Nothing will make you feel better than an escape to the South of France. Bring your smallest bikini, your biggest sunglasses and enjoy tanning on the beach while you sip away to delicious cocktails. Make sure to not leave your home without these carry-one essentials: a pair of slip-on shoes for transition through security, a dark eye mask to help you sleep through the flight, and a big, warm, scarf that could also work as a blanket.

Heading down to the South of the Border is the perfect way to make everyone in your family unite and come together. Play in the sun during the day and shop your way through all the hidden-treasure stores you can't find back home. Don't leave home without your beach necesseties: an insulated water bottle to keep hydrated, gossipy magazines and a zip-lock bag for wet items.

It doesn't matter if your hiking of backpacking your way through South America, or staying in gorgeous hotels. Don't leave home without your money-pouch necessities: copies of all documents and passports (send a virtual copy to your email account, too), film or digital cards, and earplugs ( if you're staying in hostels).

Fun and safe travelling to all!

Advance Planning- A guilty pleasure.

For someone who loves to dress up, shop for cute party dresses, go to dances and parties, I've never really celebrated my birthday. The last huge bash I can remember was when I was 8 years old, and my mom decided everyone should wear princessy dresses and threw me a 30 plus people party. I mean really- 30 plus people for an 8 year old? What was she thinking? Obviously a lot since that day, because ever since then she's put a large X on huge parties. Must have been all that squealing...and the mess she had to clean up afterwards.
When I say I don't celebrate don't get me wrong - I do SOMETHING. I mean I get presents just like the next girl, and was even fashioned with a gorgeous diamond ring for this year's birthday in March. However, other than my mom, dad, grandma and my best friend (who's like a sister) noone else was present at that dinner table in the restaurant. And for some reason- that was the best birthday of my life, because I was with the people that matter most to me :). Okay, before I start tearing up, lets move on. My next birthday is a good 6 months away, but somehow I can't help but sneaking pictures at cute birthday party dresses and lavish cakes. I mean 6 months do go by fast........
Unfortunately, I was born In March- which basically means its disgusting, snowy and cold. Summery party dresses? Big NO for that situation. Although If my birthday was in the summer, I wouldn't mind this cute...
Bella Dress from Guess.Bow-topping with floral lattice work at the bottom makes this a fun, feminine frock. In chic black and white, this dress has adjustable straps, with elastic under and at bust. Empire waist. Strapless.

And I've decided that after years of CAKES, this upcoming birthday, I want none other than a CUPCAKE Cake just as cute and girly as Maria Sharapova's.

Mommy dearest I hope you're reading- because this is the cake my little heart desires (L).

Intuition is my new found love (L)

I just found the greatest thing on earth. http://www.shopintuition.com/ Click on it, go to it, fly to it, anything- if you haven't seen the website or the store itself yet. Considering I don't live in L.A, or anywhere EVEN REMOTELY CLOSE to it- I'm going to have to satisfy myself with their online catalog.

After a good hour of browsing, drooling and " OH I WISH I COULD GO THERE AND BUY THIS" I decided the following two items made my crave-worthy and good-steal priced list!

1. Spare Soles Flats in Silver (on sale for $ 25.00)Shoes are skid resistant & H2O proof, and each pair comes with a 4.5 inchx4.5 inch (handbag ready) pouch with a wrist strap. And the best part of all, they are cute, comfy-looking and oh-so-glamorous. Hmm, I wonder if i could talk my dance teacher into letting me substitute these for my Bloch Ballet Shoes.
2. Ettika Single Circle Bracelete in Red ($ 35). A hammered gold bead is anchored by leather knots on this funky piece. I think the bright colour attracted me to this adorable bracelet, but it would definetely give a punch to any outfit all year round.

Mental note to self: Book trip to L.A. as soon as possible.

On my mind today...

So, today was a fairly boring day. No really, it was. The summer is slowly ( actually more like quickly) coming to an end, and with less than two weeks to go till school starts I am both annoyed, scared and excited. I'm annoyed, because I definetely didn't get to accomplish everything I planned this summer. Sure I visited a gorgeous island, spend time with my best friend, friends, tanned (obviously not enough-or it just faded away quickly), shopped and had fun. But nothing TOO EXCITING or dramatic happened. And isn't that what summer is all about? I am scared because our admissions offices at school has once again messed up my schedule, and given me the completely wrong courses, I'm hoping with classes with at least some of my friends, and I am not looking forward to the homework load. Lastly, I am excited beyond belief to see the friends I didn't have a chance to write into my busy summer or simply due to the fact that both our schedules didn't meet. I am also excited for the premiere of Gossip Girl, and for another preppy year in my life. I am NOT excited to see how many incoming freshmen decide to incorporate the "Hi, I am a Blair Waldorf wannabe" look. Oh well, they'll learn their own fashion sense eventually." I am also very excited to be starting dance again, after quitting on a whim in late May. I quit- because I couldn't take the pressure anymore, or maybe I just got tired of doing nothing but school, dance, school, dance. Who knows, but either way I am going back. The perk to this, is not only am I going to be going back to dance outside of school; but I am also taking a dance course IN SCHOOL. Fantastic, right? All these thoughts about dance, have caused me to buy new jazz shoes and new ballet shoes, even though my old ones were in perfect condition. Oh well, one can never have too many.....

I am also in love with the candy coloured dance Body suits that are sold at H&M. They are organic, and for the lovely price of around $30, won't make me guilty for buying two. Mental note to self- add to shopping list.

http://www.hm.com/ca#/top5/
Follow the link above, if you want to check out the lovely bodysuit yourself :).

I am also loving the look of "above the knee, high waist" black skirts for fall. Add some tights, a cute pair of mary-janes ( the only pair of shoes that are non-heel that I can force myself to wear) OR a pair of heels, and you've got the ultimate preppy, and keep yourself cozy look. However, I am strongly doubting anyone would understand what I was wearing -in a school where TNA sweatpants and LULU yoga pants are all the rage. Well, I shouldn't be lying to you- I wear my occassional ( okay not so occasional ) pair of lulu pants myself. What's a girl gotta do, when she has tons of homework, is deprived of sleep and that cozy spot against the wall on the floor amongst her best friends is looking very great, but skirt un-friendly? I should definetely be getting bonus points for braving it up in heels though. Yes, bonus points for moi!

Aldoshoes has a new fall collection, that is simple but cute, and would fit into just about anyone's wardrobe. Feel free to check out aldoshoes.com online or visit one of their retail shops.

I can see the sun setting....and it's very disappointing. Why must summer only be 2 months long!?

Let the leaves fall (L)

After spending a whole day rotating between various doctors for checkups and tests, I managed to pour over every September issue of every fall magazine in the waiting rooms. I was also very happy to see that the upcoming season's trends would be very prep-school chic. Here's what's in store for us this fall:
-print dresses
-tailored jackets
-ruffled blouses
-fuller skirts
-chunky knits

I think the print dress is a great trend for fall, because you can take your summer staple straight to your september wardrobe with some one-tone tights, a cute blazer or a cozy cardigan. Pair it with heels and you've got a great going-out look for evening. Unless you're like me and quite often click your way in heels to class...
This look can be seen on the runway for Christian Dior, Gucci and Chloe.

The next trend-tailored jackets make us feel like we stole something from the men's department. These jackets easily flatter skirts and trousers, give you the Gossip Girl Blair Waldorf look and urbanize any dress. This look can be seen on the runway for Yves Saint Laurent, Calvin Klein and Diane Von Furstenberg.

The third trend-ruffled blouses, will definetely channel the girly side of every girl. It's very showgirlie and can work well pants, jeans, and skirts. This look can be seen on the runway for Yigal Azrouel, Givenchy and Marni.

The fourth trend-fuller skirts, make you look more glamorous every step of the way. The flattering cut to mid-knee can work very well for both day and evening; and is much more comfortable than the skin-tight, summery minis we have gotten used to. This trend can be seen on the runway for Blumarine, Oscar de la Renta and Giorgio Armani.

The final trend- chunky knits, is definetely going to evoke many, lazy "sweater and leggings" days. It's better to wear a light layer underneath in case it gets too hot, or cozy up in a turtleneck number for those chilly, fall nights.

Visual pictures from various affordable collections coming end of August!

If I were a boat...

..I'd be Alberta Ferretti's renovated Icebreaker. This ship will stop every year in May, in Cannes, for the film festival. This year's theme was the jungle, but the ship has been set to look like a carnival, a pirate ship and a bordello. An invitation to Alberta's yacht is one of the most coveted in Cannes. The interior of the yacht is truly breathtaking. Instead of plush carpeting or parquet floors-planked wood was used everywhere. The walls are covered with complementary fabrics such as raw linen, raffia and rough silk. There are a total of six guest rooms, and the designer decorates with pieces she's attributed from her travels to Bali, China, Croatia, France, Greece, Mexico, Spain and Italy.

Doing a good deed has never been classier...

While browsing online, on one of my "break from going-out so much" summer nights, I came upon an article about the celeb-studded Amfar's annual AIDS fund-raiser event. This event was held outside the famous Le Moulin de Mougins restaurant in Cannes. The scene was filled with A-listers such as: Madonna, Sharon Stone, Sean Combs, Donatella, Versace, Tommy Hilfiger, Tamara Mellon, Georgina Chapman, Milla Jovovich, Natalie Portman, Joely Richardson, Eva Herzigova, Rose Mcgowan and Mary J Blige.

Being a devoted volunteer to the sick and the elderly myself, I am proud to see even celebrities taking up so many great causes. Here are some fun facts from the night, mes cheries:
-Madonna auctioned of a one-of-a-kind Chanel by Karl Lagerfield alligator bag with 334 diamonds on the clasp for $464, 000
-Sharon Stone donated her restored 1976 Porsche Targa, which was auctioned of for more than $773, 000.
-Diddy auctioned of 24 hours with himself for $310, 000
-Tommy Hilfiger donated $ 100, 000
-The likes of Harvey Weinstein and Quentin Tarantino auctioned of lunches with themselves

The final total of money raised by the end of the night was $10 million! Bravo everyone!

The owner and creater of Eau De Couture

Hello everyone and fellow bloggers!

My name is Tina. Well actually, my middle name is Tina. But since I prefer my middle name to my first name-this is the one I`m going to use on this blog. Why did i create a blog, you may wonder. Somewhere amongst all the time I spend on school, my after-school activities (I am a high school student), spending time with my friends, and practically calling Starbucks my second home, I still have time left over on my hands. Or maybe this is because it`s still Summer, and the back-to-school anticipation is absolutely killing me.

To give you a better look into my life. I am a girl who loves to dance, and although will never become a prima-ballerina, feels better nowhere else except in her tights and dance shoes. I love fashion and I would much appreciate if the people in the High school world learned what fashion is. It seems like everyone thinks wearing Abercrombie & Fitch, Uggs, and Hollister makes them immedietly the most fashionable people in the world. What happened to pencil skirts, high heels, cute tees, scarves, fashionable bags and the world of designer brand names. Clearly it died, along with people`s love for anything other than well- doing absolutely nothing.

I adore languages. No, this doesn`t mean I spend 90 percent of my life reading about various languages of learning the histories of different countries. Actually, I abhor history. I do however, love the 5 languages I speak, write and read in. French is absolutely the sexiest language in this world and France definetely tops my list of most fashionable countries in the world. Love it or hate it- it`s definetely my opinion.

That`s the inside on me-expect a year of posts all about fashion and the gossip you crave.

xoxo
